Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was an english novelist, best known as the author of Frankestein. She died in 1851.
She met the young poet Percy Shelley in 1812 and eloped with him to France in July 1814. The couple got married and when her husband died, she returned to England and devoted herself to publicizing Shelley’s writings and to educating their only surviving child, Percy Florence Shelley.
Frankenstein was her most famous novel, a ghotic novel and philosophical novel; it is also often considered an early example of science fiction. It narrates the dreadful consequences that arise after a scientist has artificially created a human being.
Mary Shelley and her best seller were icons of the Romantic era.She was a woman with a tragic life, her husband died, her son died, she suffered and abort but still she kept on writing about life, death, science to escape from her sad life.
